The Do-It-Yourself Rain Barrel Faucet is a great, cost-effective way to better suit your watering needs. You'll save money by capturing the rain water that falls during a storm and rain water is better for your plants than regular tap water. Purchasing a 35-gallon plastic trash can or barrel (not provided) is necessary. Then cut a hole 16" from the bottom of the barrel with a 1 1/2" hole saw. The rain barrel kit is equipped with a 3 1/2" reverse thread black plastic bulkhead along with one 3/4" outdoor grade sediment faucet. Good for watering your plants, garden, lawn and flowers when you don't have time to wait on Mother Nature to do it for you or if you want to conserve your water and replace it with rain water. Do not let humans/animals drink from the barrel because water on your roof could be dirty.
